Long before the days of television broadcast, people were forced to rely on radio to keep in touch with the world. This form of communication was expressed purely through voice and sound alone, enabling listeners to use the power of their imagination to visualise what they were hearing. Then came along visual console games and animation. While visuals are provided, the production of sound within each medium remains very similar to that of radio broadcasts and podcasts.

At Crafty Lion Productions, we provide film-makers, game designers, animators and theatres alike with custom-made sound creations, music compositions and voice-over artists using our library of sound effects and talent pool of actors.

As well as providing a sound design service for fellow media-makers, we also create audio projects to enhance the power of the imagination of people from all walks of life - including those with a visual impairment or disability.

Given the popularity of the visual medium, writers of podcasts and audio plays are a rare breed. We have over 25 voice-over artists in our talent pool and we produce audio projects of all genres.

The projects we produce are as follows:

Audio plays. Scripts of less than 10 minutes in length.
Audio series. Scripts of no more than 20 minutes in length per episode.
Podcasts. General soundscapes that tell a story but not necessarily with dialogue. Preferably less than 10 minutes in length.

Submitting audio projects

Applicants will need to include a short synopsis of their projects to be considered for production. Please indicate if it is an audio play, audio series or podcast. Please fill in the request form here.

With over 1000 sound effects at our disposal, we are able to create soundscapes for a variety of multimedia including film, game creation, animation and theatre.

In order for us to tailor soundscapes to your needs, you will need to specify the length of each soundscape and any specific sounds used within them.

Private sound editing sessions - $AUD30/hour on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (Adelaide metropolitan area only). Bookings essential. Contact our sound editor.

Requests for soundscapes

Please indicate the desired length of each soundscape, as well as any specific sounds that need to be included. The completed soundscape will then be uploaded into our e-store for purchase. Please post a request in our forum here.

Music. It is an essential element of any production - whether it be visual or audio. We currently have three composers in our talent pool who specialise in various genres, willing to compose a variety of pieces for your particular project.

Auditions
All our actors are also professional performers who have had a variety of experience in front of the camera. We are also willing to forward any audition information you may have to them.

Band and Music Promotion
Looking for an outlet to sell your music to the wider community? We also provide a promotional service for bands and musicians to sell their works online at our e-store. Those interested will need to register into our talent pool. A promotional services fee applies. Please refer to the Member Pay Rates page for more information.

We also cater for interstate and overseas members and offer payment for each as they assist us in bringing your project to life. Payments for each service request are as follows:

Invoices will be sent out to you when we have received word of confirmation from each artist of their work. The artist will not start work on your project until payment has been made. All payments are in Australian currency.
